Matcha 抹茶 has been very popular in Montreal last few years. I’m glad to see Matcha latte on the menu at many cafes these days.

Since I’ve met Reina* (https://ojapanesetea.ca) who is a fourth generation of a tea shop in Tokyo, I’ve learnt so much about Matcha, not only the difference of flavour and taste, but also the history, philosophy and culture behind.

Wagashi 和菓子 means Japanse dessert. Thanks to such talented chefs, we could taste different kind of dessert with Japanese ingredients, such as Azuki, yuzu, kinako and kuro-goma in Montreal.

This summer version of Wagashi club, I’m sharing how I chose matcha and my favourite way to enjoy it in Summer, with a plate of summery Wagashi.

You’ll taste

  • organic matcha and premium matcha from Sakao Japanese tea

(You can choose how you’d like to enjoy your bowl of Matcha, iced or hot, with or without oat milk)

  • summery wagashi plate prepared by Maya

I’m committed to use organic ingredients and from local farmers as much as possible. This Wagashi club will be prepared without any animal products, refined sugar, or highly processed food such as glucose syrup or corn syrup.

Maya’s Wagashi club
is an opportunity to discover Wagashi/Japanese dessert which are prepared by May in a small group. Like supper club but with Matcha and Japanese dessert. Why not?
